22 - 1/2 cup salsa

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F.
02 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
03 - Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking apart with a spoon, approximately 5 minutes.
04 - Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
05 - Arrange half the tortilla chips on a large baking sheet. Top with half the beef mixture and half the cheeses. Layer remaining chips, beef, and cheese.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbling.
07 - Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with cherry tomatoes, black beans, olives, jalapeños, and red onion.
08 - Garnish with cilantro and avocado. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa on the side.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • Everything cooks in under half an hour, so you can go from hungry to happy without the wait.
  • The layering trick ensures every single chip gets a fair share of toppings and cheese.
  • You can scale it up for a crowd or downsize for a solo movie night without any fuss.
  • Leftovers reheat beautifully if you store the toppings separately and crisp them in the oven.
02 -
  • Layer the chips twice instead of piling them all at once, otherwise the bottom layer stays naked and sad.
  • Dont add the fresh toppings before baking or the tomatoes will turn mushy and the avocado will brown.
  • Use a rimmed baking sheet to catch any cheese that bubbles over, trust me on this one.
  • Let the beef cool slightly before layering so the chips dont get soggy from steam.
03 -
  • Toast your tortilla chips in the oven for two minutes before assembling to guarantee maximum crunch.
  • Grate your own cheese instead of buying pre shredded, it melts smoother and tastes better.
  • Add a pinch of sugar to the beef mixture to balance the acidity of the tomato sauce.
  • Use a pizza cutter to portion out servings cleanly without making a mess.
